Junior sprinter Cody Pierce won a New England Division III championship and earned All-America honors to cap the indoor season with a memorable March.
Pierce began the month by winning the 200m dash at the New England Division III Indoor Championships, setting a new school record with a time of 21.57 seconds, a time that qualified him for the national championships. Pierce also earned All-New England honors with a fifth-place finish in the 400m, helping the Mammoths win the team title.
After topping the field in the 200m preliminaries at the NEICAAA Indoor Championships and winning the event at the Tufts Final Qualifier, Pierce earned All-America honors in two events at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships with a 15th-place finish in the 400m and a fourth-place finish as part of Amherst's distance medley relay team.
A statistics major from Linwood, New Jersey, Pierce has earned four career All-NESCAC honors with podium finishes in the 200m and 400m last year and back-to-back runner-up finishes in the 4x100m relay.
