Senior Mary Kate McGranahan won the NESCAC Championship and helped the Mammoths to a second-place finish in the team standings.

McGranahan completed the course at Hamilton in 21:15.3, besting her nearest rival by over 15 seconds and setting a personal best time for a 6k race. She became the ninth Amherst harrier to win the NESCAC Women's Cross Country Championship and first since 2007.

The conference championship race was the second win of the month and fourth of the season for McGranahan. The New York native kicked off the month by topping the field at the Purple Valley Invitational on Oct. 1.

An economics major and six-time NESCAC All-Academic selection, McGranahan earned All-NESCAC honors in cross country for the second straight season.
