Box Score DAVENPORT, Fla. – Fourth-ranked Amherst College received four goals from Dylan Park '16, but Western New England University used a five-goal fourth period to edge the Purple & White, 10-8 in Tuesday's non-conference men's lacrosse game in Davenport, Fla.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The first quarter featured a battle of the goalies as Western New England outshot Amherst, 13-10 in the first 15 minutes.
- Amherst goalie Cody Tranbarger '17 made eight of his 16 saves in the period, while the Golden Bears' Steven Kerr turned away six shots in the frame.
- At the 6:07 mark of the first quarter, Patrick Dillon broke through for Western New England to give the Golden Bears a 1-0 lead which held into the second quarter.
- At the 12:27 mark, Park netted his first goal on a feed from Kane Haffey '16 to even the game at 1-1.
- With 6:22 left in the half, James Kolesar capitalized on a feed from Frank Medlicott, before Quinn Moroney '16 fired in the game-tying goal at the 3:47 mark following a pass from Charlie Gill '16 to make it 2-2.
- With 34 seconds to play in the second quarter, Taylor Dubose gave Western New England a 3-2 edge at halftime.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Park struck again at the 11:40 mark, once again taking advantage of a nice dish from Haffey to make it 3-3.
- Back-to-back goals by Justin Bard and Dubose gave the Golden Bears a 5-3 lead with 5:07 to play in the third frame, before the Purple & White responded with three straight goals.
- Connor Crump '16 and Moroney each netted unassisted markers, before Park registered his third tally of the game with 22 seconds on the clock to give Amherst a 6-5 lead. Park's goal came on the man-advantage.
- Park got the fourth quarter off to a fast start with his fourth score of the game just 16 seconds into the final period.
- Jon Bota and Evan Wolf '19 exchanged goals to set the score at 8-6 with Dubose and Moroney providing the assists on the respective goals.
- From there, the Golden Bears exploded for four goals in a 4:31 span to give Western New England a 10-8 victory.
- Bota, Dubose, Bard and Stephen Gair scored the goals, with Dillon assisting on Bota's and Bard's goals.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Crump finished with five ground balls to lead Amherst, while Tranbarger and Gill picked up three each.
- Haffey and Crump each caused a pair of turnovers, while Austin Park '19 was 9-for-21 from the faceoff dot.
- David Cedrone led all players with eight ground ball pickups and was 12-for-21 in faceoffs, while Kerr added seven ground balls. Kerr also finished with 22 saves, including seven in the final 15 minutes of play.
