Sophomore quarterback Marek Hill has powered the Mammoths to an impressive start this fall, leading Amherst to a 2-1 record during the month of September.
Hill showcased his dual-threat ability throughout the opening month of the season, throwing for 609 yards and seven touchdowns in three games, while adding 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He was named NESCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Mammoths to a 23-13 win over Hamilton, completing 25 of 35 pass attempts (71.4 percent) for 236 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception, as well as 109 rushing yards, including a 57-yard touchdown run. The next week, Hill threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns as the Mammoths toppled Tufts, 30-14, with Amherst’s highest offensive output since 2019.
The Oak Park, Illinois, native finished the month of September ranked third in the NESCAC in both passing yards, averaging 203 yards per game, and total offense, averaging 253.3 yards per game.
