Junior center Will Scherer averaged 13.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game for the Mammoths over six games in December.
Scherer tallied double-digit rebounds in five of the six games in December with four double-doubles. His highlights from the month include 18 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Yeshiva on Dec. 3, 20 points to match his career high against Albertus Magnus on Dec. 5, and 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Mammoths in a 72-67 win at York (N.Y.) on Dec. 7.
A double major in economics and psychology from Darnestown, Maryland, Scherer enters the new year averaging 10.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. He leads the NESCAC in blocks and ranks seventh in Division III in rebounds.
