Junior guard Kori Barach averaged 12.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game to help lead the Mammoths to a 4-0 month of December and stay undefeated on the season.
Barach tallied two double-doubles in Amherst's four games in December, tallying 10 points and 15 rebounds in a 70-55 win over Wesleyan on Dec. 2 and notching 19 points and 11 rebounds in an 81-71 win over Husson on Dec. 29. She earned NESCAC Player of the Week honors for her play at the Florida Sunshine Shootout, where the Mammoths picked up wins over Husson and Clarkson.
A double major in economics and mathematics from Carlisle, Massachusetts, Barach earned All-NESCAC and NESCAC All-Academic honors last season and currently leads the Mammoths in scoring, averaging 13.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game this season to rank among the top 10 in the NESCAC in all three categories.
The Mammoths entered the new year ranked 10th in the nation in the D3hoops.com poll with a 9-0 record.
