Junior runner Kolya Markov-Riss earned All-New England honors in two events at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, including anchoring Amherst's championship-winning 4x800m relay team.
A Russian major from Providence, Rhode Island, Markov-Riss teamed with Braedon Fiume, Will Nagy and Ben Davis to post a time of 7:46.34 and capture the NED3 title in the 4x800m relay. He also finished fourth and was the top NESCAC finisher in the 800m, earning All-New England honors in that event as well.
Earlier in the month, Markov-Riss won the 600m and was part of the winning 4x400m relay team at the Tufts Cupid Challenge. At Boston University's Hemery Valentine Invitational, Markov-Riss posted a personal-best time of 1:51.81, which ranked 22nd in Division III this season as of the end of February.
