Mammoth women in Third After Day 1 of Williams INvitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Amherst College Women's Golf team competed in Day 1 of the Williams Fall Invitational.

The Mammoths competed at the Taconic Golf Course hosted by Williams College. The team started their round with a 12:30 P.M. shotgun start and battled intense winds and periodic heavy rain throughout the day. The Mammoths finished in 3rd place with a total score of 305, or 21 over par (the course is a par 71). Leading the tournament is Middlebury College with a team score of 297, or 13 over par.


On the individual leaderboard, freshman Eve Krinsky leads the Mammoths, firing a 73, or 2 over par. Despite a shaky start, Krinsky played consistently throughout the day and finished strong with three birdies. Krinsky is individually tied for 2nd place out of 74 players. Following, Senior Abigail Kim shot a 76 with both of her birdies on par 3 holes. Close behind, freshman Judy Wu shot 77, and notably birdied hole 6, a difficult par 4. Sophomore Emma Lindemoen shot 79 with a birdie to finish her round on hole 18, a par 5. Freshman Joanna Song finished with an 83. 

The Mammoths will begin day 2 with an early 8:30 A.M. shotgun start. The Mammoths will face intense rain for day 2, and are looking to play a consistent round and climb the leaderboard.
