MIDDLEBURY, VT. – The Amherst College women's golf team competed in Day 2 of the George Phinney Jr. Classic Intercollegiate Golf Invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course Sunday. The Mammoths started their round with a 9:30 A.M. shotgun start and battled heavy rain and winds, making for difficult playing conditions.

The Mammoths climbed to 3rd place with a day 2 total of 315, or 31 over par (the course is a par 71), bringing their two day total to 63 over par. Winning the tournament was host Middlebury College with a day 2 score of 315, bringing their two day total to 57 over par.

On the individual leaderboard, freshman Judy Wu led the Mammoths with a 76, or 5 over par. Wu had a consistent round, and notably birdied holes 12, a par 3, and hole 16, a par 5. Wu finished in 9th place individually. Following close behind, freshman Eve Krinsky shot 77, and birdied hole 14, a tricky par 3. Sophomore Emma Lindemoen fired a 79, and birdied hole 18, a tough par 4, for the second day in a row. Freshman Joanna Song and senior Abigail Kim both shot 83, and Kim birdied hole 14 along with Krinsky.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Renna Chang shot 84. Also playing as an individual, junior Karolyn Zeng shot 85.
