Mammoths 4th After Round 1 of Wesleyan Women's Invitational

RIDGEFIELD, CT. – The Amherst College Women's Golf team competed in Day 1 of the Wesleyan Women's Invitational. The Mammoths competed at the Silver Springs Country Club hosted by Wesleyan College.

The Mammoths started their round with a 10:30 A.M. tee time and finished in 4th place at 310, or 30 over par (the course is a par 70). Leading the tournament is Bowdoin College with a team score of 298, or 18 over par.

On the individual leaderboard, freshman Judy Wu leads the Mammoths, firing a 76, or 6 over par. Despite a shaky start, Wu finished her round strong with two birdies and finishing with five pars in a row. Wu is individually tied for 9th place out of 60 players. Following close behind, sophomore Emma Lindemoen, freshman Eve Krinsky, and freshman Joanna Song all fired 78, or 8 over par. All three players had two birdies during their rounds, but on different holes. The three Mammoths are tied for 17th individually.

Senior Abigail Kim follows shooting a 79. 

The Mammoths are starting tomorrow with an 8:30 A.M. tee team at the Silver Springs Country Club. The Mammoths are looking to looking to fight back and climb the leaderboard tomorrow for their last tournament of the fall season.
