Mammoths finish 3rd at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Me.– The Amherst College women's golf team competed in Day 2 of the Polar Bear Shootout at the Brunswick Golf Course hosted by Bowdoin College. After a 9 A.M. shotgun start, the Mammoths competed in harsh wind and rain conditions. The team climbed the leaderboard and finished in 3rd place.

The Mammoths finished day 2 with a total score of 295, or 3 over par, and a two day total of 11 over par. Winning the tournament is Middlebury College with a two day total of 4 over par. 

On the individual leaderboard, sophomore Emma Lindemoen led the Mammoths firing a 72, or one under par (the course is a par 73). Lindemoen had four birdies and an eagle on hole 8 after holing out from 68 yards. Lindemoen finished with a two day total of four over par, and climbed the leaderboard 20 spots, finishing T-17th place individually.

Following, senior Abigail Kim fired a 74, or one over par, on day 2. Individually, Kim tied for 3rd place with a two day total of 2 under par, which was one shot from the lead. Freshman Eve Krinsky also fired a 74, and finished with a two day total of 3 over par for T-11th place. Krinsky had three birdies, and an eagle on hole 16, a par 5.

Freshman Joanna Song finished closed behind with a 75, and two day total of 11 over par. Freshman Judy Wu fired a 76, and finished with a two day total of 7 over par. Sophomore Renna Chang, who competed as an individual, finished day 2 with a 79, bringing her two day total to 10 over par.
