HADLEY, MA. -- Two members of the Amherst College men's basketball team were named to the All-NESCAC second team when they were announced today. Sophomore guard Elias Chin (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and senior guard/forward Chris Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) were accorded All-NESCAC honors for their play this season.

Chin was named to the Second Team after a breakout sophomore season. His impact on the court jumped dramatically, starting 21 of his 24 games played and pouring in 10.3 points, 3.9 assists, and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting at an efficient .431 clip. He also became one of the Mammoths' most consistent clutch performers as the season progressed, hitting the game sealing layup with 21 seconds to go in the team's upset of top-10 ranked Tufts on Feb. 6. This is his first All-NESCAC selection.

Hammond also garners his first All-NESCAC selection with a Second Team nod this season. He put in a solid final season, playing in all 25 games and starting 24 while recording 10.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game this year. He also made a huge impact on the defensive side of the ball, racking up a career-high 12 shots and 35 steals so far.

The Mammoths are not done yet, playing their way to an at-large berth to the 2026 DIII NCAA Tournament. They will begin their tournament run on Friday, March 6 against WPI at University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. The winner will advance to play the winner of the other Round of 64 game between hosts Mary Washington and Worcester State University on Saturday, March 7.
