Mammoth Women Move Into 1st Place at Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, GA -- The Amherst College Women's Golf Team sits in 1st place after the second round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational at Great Dunes.

The Mammoths began play in the morning, and finished the day at 9 over par, now totaling 23 over par. They hold a 1-stroke lead entering the final day, aead of second-place Carnegie Mellon. 


On the individual leaderboard, first-year Renna Chang led the Mammoths firing a 73, sitting at 17th in the overall field. 

Following, second-year Joelle Kim shot 74 and sits at T-8th in the field. Second-year Mekhala Costello and first-year Emma Lindemoen both shot 75, and junior Abigail Kim shot 80. At 3-over after two days of the tournament, Costello is currently tied for fifth. 

The Mammoths, #6 in the nation, are back in action tomorrow in the morning for the third and final round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational at Great Dunes.
