AMHERST, Mass. - The Amherst College men's basketball team earned the first trip to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time under Head Coach Marlon Sears.

The Mammoths (18-7), an at-large team hailing from the New England Small College Athletic Conference, will begin their tournament play against WPI on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. The winner of the opening round will face Mary Washington or Worcester State in the Regional Final on Saturday, March 7.

This is the 21st NCAA tournament appearance for Amherst, who are making their first appearance since 2019. The Mammoths have a 43-20 record in the NCAA tournament, and were national champions in 2007 and 2013, and have seven Final Four appearances.
