SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Amherst College women's track and field team delivered a historic performance at the Springfield Triangle Classic on Friday and Saturday, highlighted by a new school record from junior Lilly Meadows and several automatic qualifying marks for the postseason. This meet served as the final opportunity for the Mammoths to secure automatic qualification for the championship season.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lilly Meadows made history in the weight throw, shattering the school record with a massive personal-best toss of 16.15m to win the event and secure an automatic qualifying mark.
- Junior Emma Ramsingh also completed in the weight throw, earning an automatic qualifying mark and a personal best with a throw of 14.95m, finishing fourth overall.
- Daphne Theiler captured a first-place finish in the 5000m run, clocking in at 18:35.67.
- In the 60m dash, Ellie Jolly posted a personal-best time of 7.91 in the finals to claim fourth place.
- Junior Caroline Wu notched a personal best in the 400m dash, finishing fifth with a time of 1:02.02.
- The Mammoths' 4x400m relay team of Halle Hanna, Camilla Lash, Mads Rabb, and Caroline Wu took first place with a winning time of 4:14.66.
