MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The Amherst women's track and field team won three events, while three Mammoths punched their tickets to the New England Division III Championships after two days of competition at the Middlebury Winter Classic on the flat track in Virtue Field House.
No team scores were tallied in the meet that featured women's teams from eight different institutions, representing all three NCAA divisions as well as a Canadian squad.
The Mammoths are back in action next weekend, competing in the Massasoit Classic at Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 24.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* The Mammoths won the distance medley relay as senior
Piper Lentz, sophomore
Leila Davani, junior
Zoë Marcus and first-year
Katie Greenwald clocked in at 12:29.82, the second-best time of any Division III team thus far this season.
* In her first collegiate meet, first-year
Anna Kramarchuk won the long jump with a mark of 5.12m, a provisional qualifying mark for the New England Championships.
* Sophomore
Sophia Ford won the triple jump for her first collegiate win, posting a mark of 10.58m to provisionally qualify for New Englands.
* Lentz and Marcus automatically qualified for New Englands in the 600m. Lentz placed second in 1:35.71 and Marcus won her heat in 1:36.25 to claim third place in the event.
* Sophomore
Maya Levine automatically qualified for New Englands in the 1000m, placing third with a time of 3:03.74. Greenwald placed seventh in 3:05.31 and sophomore
Audrey Seeger was 10th in 3:08.63, both with provisional marks for the NED3 Championships in their first collegiate 1000m starts.
* First-year
Alayah Campbell made her collegiate debut with a fourth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.58m to automatically qualify for the New England Championships.

Madison Vant and senior
Morgan Rome each tallied provisional NED3 qualifying scores in the heptathlon. Vant placed third with 2559 points and Rome was fourth with 2528 points.
* First-year
Ani Bailin and sophomore
Addison McGoey notched provisional New England qualifying times in the 3000m. Bailin was third in 10:12.63 and McGoey placed sixth in 10:42.24.
* First-year
Tess Adams placed third in the shot put in her first collegiate meet with a throw of 11.68m, a provisional New Englands qualifying mark. Adams was the top first-year in the event.
* Sophomore
Lily Meadows notched a provisional NED3 qualifying mark in the weight throw with a toss of 13.32m in her first collegiate weight throw competition to place sixth.
