BOSTON & MEDFORD, Mass. -- Fueled by record-breaking performances and breakthrough results, the Amherst women's track and field team turned in a standout weekend at the BU Valentine Invitational and Tufts Cupid Challenge, highlighted by national top-10 marks, championship qualifiers, and a wave of personal bests.
BU Valentine Invitational
The Mammoths delivered standout performances across nearly every event group.
* In the 800m,
Piper Lentz broke the school record, running 2:11.46, a performance that ranks top-10 nationally. Zoe Marcus added a PR of 2:13.13, also ranking top-10 nationally.
* In the mile,
Flora Biro ran a PR and uto-Qualifier of 5:02.88, while
Audrey Seeger recorded a collegiate PR of 5:05.85.
* On the sprint side, Ellie Jolley ran a 60m PR of 8.03 Mads Rabb posted a 200m PR of 26.86 and a 400m PR of 59.50, while
Caroline Wu ran a 400m PR of 1:02.06.
Myeh Medina recorded a 400m PR of 58.49, an auto-qualifying mark that ranks fourth all-time at Amherst.
* The hurdles group delivered strong performances, including
Myeh Medina's PR of 9.10 in the 60m hurdles, an auto-qualifier.
Tufts Cupid Challenge
Amherst continued to build momentum with strong performances across events.
* In the 5,000m,
Ava Thomas ran 17:49.87 (auto-qualifier),
Allison Lounsbury ran 18:11.05 (provisional), and
Nora Hart recorded a PR of 18:27.26.
* In the hurdles, Ana Ioppolo ran 9.06 (auto-Q) and Arissa McGowan ran 9.61 (auto-Q).
* In the field events,
Avery Keenan cleared a season-best 2.87m (9-5) in the pole vault, while
Alayah Campbell recorded a long jump PR and auto-qualifier of 5.73m (18-9.75) placing her top 10 nationally.
* In the throws,
Emma Ramsingh recorded a weight throw PR of 13.79m (45-3), ranking third all-time at Amherst, while Lilly Meadows achieved an auto-qualifying performance ranking second all-time of 14.77m (48-4).
* The pentathlon group showed major improvement, led by
Morgan Rome, who scored a PR of 2684 points (+108). The multis group recorded several individual event PRs across the competition.
