WATERFORD, Conn. -- Three Mammoths earned All-Region accolades as the Amherst College men's cross country team delivered a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon at Harkness Memorial State Park.
Sophomore
Harrison Dow, senior
Nick Edwards-Levin, and junior
Henry Dennen earned All-Region honors, awarded to the top 35 finishers in the race.
RPI earned the team title with 29 points, while Williams, the defending Mideast Regional champions, finished as the runner up with 76 points. Middlebury placed third overall with 119 points while Wesleyan finished with 130 points and Amherst finished in sixth place with 136 points.
"We fought hard and we are hoping that we did enough to get an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships next week," said head cross country coach
Hannah Chappell-Dick. "
Harrison Dow had an excellent race, placing fifth overall. Flora Biro continued her strong freshman campaign to place ninth. Four other women and two other men also earned All-Region honors."
The Mammoths, ranked 16th in the country according to the latest USTFCCCA Division III poll, will await tomorrow's announcement from the NCAA to see if they are among the 22 at-large teams selected from across the 10 regions of the country to compete in the national championships. Selections are scheduled to be released on NCAA.com at 3 p.m.

Henry Dennen produced his second All-Region honor after placing 28th overall, crossing the line in 25:28.4.
* Sophomore
Stan Craig finished in 37th place notching a time of 25:45.2.

Ben Kasen was the Amherst men's only first-year in the lineup as he placed 45th overall with a time of 26:03.9.
