TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Sophomore Harrison Dow paced the Mammoths as the Amherst College men's cross country team finished 20th in the nation at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. 

This is the second consecutive season the Mammoths have finished in the top 20 at the national championship meet. Wisconsin-La Crosse won their fourth national championship with 77 points after finishing as the runner up at last year's championship meet. Wartburg finished as the runner up with 173 points. Wisconsin-Whitewater's Christian Patzka won the individual championship, edging the runner up by 2.1 seconds and completing the 8K course in 24:01.6.

MAMMOTH SCORING RUNNERS:

* Competing in his second national championship, Dow finished 47th overall improving his time from last year's national championship meet by over a minute, registering a time of 24:50.7. 

* Senior Nick Edwards-Levin also competed in his second national championship, placing 58th and improving his time from last year's national championship by clocking in a time of 24:57.1. 

* Junior Drew Stephens placed 179th in his national championship debut, producing a personal best time of 25:40.3. 

* Competing as the Mammoth's only first-year, Ben Kasen wraps up his collegiate debut in 203rd place posting a time of 25:48.2. 

* Sophomore Stan Craig finished in 226th overall in his national championship debut, notching a time of 25:57.9.
