AUSTIN, Texas – Jessica Huang, a rising junior on the NESCAC champion Amherst College women's golf team, has been named to the 2023 Academic All-America Women's At-Large Third Team for NCAA Division III.

The Academic All-America teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field of play and in the classroom. Honorees are selected by the membership of College Sports Communicators, with teams named in 14 sports and the at-large teams that cover sports not represented by their own team. This year's Division III women's at-large teams feature 45 student-athletes who compete in fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rowing, skiing and water polo.

Huang is the 42nd Academic All-America selection in Amherst history dating back to 1982 and the first Amherst golfer honored. She is one of eight golfers named to this year's at-large teams.

The Auckland, New Zealand, native is a mathematics major with a 3.97 cumulative grade point average. She is a two-time All-America selection, earning Second Team honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association in each of her first two seasons at Amherst.

Huang led the Mammoths with her consistent and impressive performance throughout her sophomore campaign. She finished third or better in the first eight tournaments the Mammoths played in and then tied for fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships, matching the best individual finish at nationals in Amherst history and helping the Mammoths to an eighth-place team finish. She was the individual runner-up at the NESCAC Championship and earned NESCAC Co-Golfer of the Year honors after winning the NESCAC Rookie of the Year award last year.
