SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Kelechi Eziri of the Amherst College men's track and field team qualified for the New England Division III Championships as a small contingent of Mammoths competed at the Triangle Classic on Saturday at the Springfield College Field House.

There was no team scoring in the meet, which was the final chance to qualify before the Mammoths compete in the New England Division III Championships next weekend (Feb. 24-25) in Boston.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

* Eziri notched a second-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.70m to qualify for New Englands in his second event this season after previously qualifying in the triple jump.

* Sophomore Luke Munch finished third in the 5000m with a time of 15:46.14.

* Senior Ellis Phillips-Gallucci placed fourth in the 400m, clocking in at 52.79 seconds.
