24 Mammoths Garner All-Region Recognition for the Outdoor Season from the USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. - 24 Amherst men's track and field student-athletes were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Region honorees, it was announced yesterday.

The top eight individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top eight relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season. 

Mammoths that were recognized by the USTFCCCA and the events they earned recognition for:
Junior Michael Abbey Jr. (Yonkers, N.Y.): Triple Jump
Junior Kaleb Barrett (Falmouth, Maine): Long Jump and Triple Jump
Junior Santi Benbow (West Chester, Pa.): Javelin
First-year Carter Bengtson (Cottage Grove, Ore.): 10,000 meters
First-year Manav Bhatia (Seattle, Wash.): Javelin
Junior Parker Boyle (Hong Kong): 800 meters
Junior Stan Craig (Richmond, Va.): 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters
Senior captain Ben Davis (New York, N.Y.): 800 meters and 4x400 Relay
Senior Henry Dennen (Cumberland, R.I.): 1,500 meters
Junior Harrison Dow (Concord, Mass.): 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters
First-year Marshall Dunahoe (Houston, Texas): Decathlon
Senior captain Jordan Harrison (Solon, Ohio): 100 meters and 4x100 Relay
Sophomore Ian Irwin (North Adelaide, South Australia): 100 meters and 4x100 Relay
Junior Alec Kuzyk (Montclair, N.J.): Pole Vault
Sophomore Keason Ky (Smithtown, N.Y.): 110 Hurdles
Junior Alex MacDonald (Sewickley, Pa.): Discus
First-year LJ Maslowski (Overland Park, Kan.): 4x400 Relay
Senior Alexander Nichols (Rye, N.Y.): 4x100 Relay
Sophomore Christoph Osselmann-Chai (Acton, Mass.): Pole Vault
Senior Cody Pierce (Linwood, N.J.): 400 meters, 4x100 Relay, and 4x400 Relay
Sophomore Gavin Schmidt (Swarthmore, Pa.): Discus and Hammer Throw
Senior captain Charlie Spurrell (Cranston, R.I.): Hammer Throw
Junior Harrison Talcott (Portland, Ore.): Steeplechase
First-year Cole Thalheimer (Manhasset, N.Y.): 4x400 Relay

The last meet of the outdoor season is the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet which starts on Thursday, May 21 through Saturday, May 23. Only the athletes that qualified will compete.
