NESCAC RELEASE

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. –  The Amherst College women's golf team had three individuals recognized as New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-League honorees for their efforts on the course in 2021.

Senior Isabelle Ouyang and first-year Jenny Hua each landed on the First Team, while first-year Priya Bakshi secured Second Team accolades.

The 36-hole combined scores from the NESCAC 1 and NESCAC 2 events for each golfer were used to determine the 2021 NESCAC Women's Golf All-Conference Team. The top-five golfers with the lowest 36-hole totals, including ties, earned a spot on the First Team, while the Second Team is comprised of the next five lowest 36-hole scores, including ties. The golfer with the lowest 36-hole total earned Golfer of the Year and the first-year golfer with the lowest 36-hole total in the field earned Rookie of the Year.

Isabelle Ouyang | Senior | Edina, Minn. | First Team All-NESCAC
The 2017 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Ouyang lands an All-Conference nod for the third time in her career after previously being named a 2018 Second Team and 2017 First Team selection. Posting a top-10 finish at five of the Mammoths' six tournaments this spring, Ouyang shot an 82 at the NESCAC 1 event to tie for ninth before logging a 79 (+7) to tie for fourth at the NESCAC 2 and total an impressive 161 two-day card.

Jenny Hua | First-Year | Boyds, Md. | First Team All-NESCAC
Making her first All-Conference appearance, Hua put together a sensational rookie campaign en route to claiming First Team honors. Tying for first overall at her first collegiate meet, Hua did not once fail to record a top-10 finish this spring and tied for fourth at both NESCAC meets to card an 80-79-159 and earn her spot on the All-League teams.

Priya Bakshi | First-Year | Palo Alto, Calif. | Second Team All-NESCAC
Totaling a 161 behind a tie for 12th place and a tie for fourth overall, Bakshi shot an 82 (+10) at the NESCAC 1 meet before carding a 79 (+7) at the NESCAC 2 event to earn Second Team All-NESCAC honors. Finishing sixth-or-better at five of Amherst's six tournaments, Bakshi's score of a 74 on April 25 at the Taconic Golf Club stood the Mammoths' best mark of the season.
