NESCAC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Elijah Spiro '18 and Eric Wong '20 captured the NESCAC title in their respective events as the No. 11 Amherst College men's swimming & diving team sits in second place with 547 points following day one action at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Wesleyan University in the Wesleyan Natatorium.

DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Elijah Spiro '18 captured the NESCAC title in the 50-yard breaststroke, setting the pool record with an impressive time of 24.95.
- Eric Wong '20 continued his stellar rookie campaign, claiming the NESCAC crown in the 500-yard freestyle event with a NCAA 'B' Cut mark of 4:33.15. Connor Haley '17 touched the wall second for the Purple & White with a time of 4:34.84.
- In the 50-yard freestyle, Jack Koravos '20 powered to second place, clocking a NCAA 'B' Cut time of 20.66 and narrowly missing first place by .18.
- Craig Smith '20, Sean Mebust '20, Sam Spurrell '18, and Alex Dreisbach '17 capped day one action with a third place finish behind a NCAA 'B' Cut time of 3:20.41.

- The Purple & White return to the pool tomorrow, Feb. 18 with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.
