AMHERST, MA – The Amherst College women's tennis team hosted a pair of matches over the weekend, falling to second-ranked Emory University, 7-2, on Saturday, before shutting out visiting Colby College, 9-0, on Sunday. 

In town from Atlanta, Emory swept all three doubles matches en route to its victory over fourth-ranked Amherst. First-year Rachel Holt (New York, NY) and senior co-captain Heather Cole (Pikesville, MD) posted the only singles wins for the Jeffs. 

Amherst rebounding on Sunday, sweeping all six singles matches and a trio of doubles matches in downing Colby. The Jeffs' record improved moved to 7-5 with the split. 

Amherst returns to action Wednesday at 4 p.m. against visiting Tufts University.
