3/29/2026 11:30:00 PM

MEDFORD, MA. — In the Mammoths' closest match of the season, the #14 Amherst College women's tennis team edged #16 Tufts University 4–3 on Sunday at the Voute Courts, moving to 6–3 overall and 3–1 in the NESCAC. The Mammoths absorbed a complete doubles shutout from the Jumbos, first time all season Amherst has been swept on all the doubles courts. Amherst went into the singles 0-1 down, but showed a masterclass in resilience: Amherst clawed back from the early deficit, saw the match swing to 2–3 with pressure mounting on the two remaining courts, and ultimately secured the decisive points, both in three sets to take the road victory in a NESCAC showdown between two evenly matched programs.
