Heading Into Final Day of NCAA Championship, Mammoths Tied for 9th

PAM DESERT, CA – The Amherst College women's golf team competed in Day 3 of the 2026 NCAA DIII Women's Golf National Championship. The Mammoths are competing at the Desert Willow Golf Resort and, once again, started on hole 10 of the Firecliff course Thursday.
 
The Mammoths began play in the morning and endured the desert's intense temperatures that reached 100°F. The Mammoths finished their third round with a total of 300, or +12 over par. Now with a three day total of +34 over par, the Mammoths are tied for 9th place with Washington University in St. Louis.

Continuing to lead the tournament is Emory College who has remained at +6 over par for all three days. Carnegie Mellon University fought back on Day 3 and are trailing close behind at +7 over par for the three days.
 
On the individual leaderboard, freshman Emma Lindemoen fired a +1 over par for 73. Lindemoen is currently at +2 over par for all three days, climbing to T-10th place out of 176 players. Following close behind, sophomores Mekhala Costello and Jia An both shot +3 over par for 75. Costello, now at +3 over par for all three days, also climbed the individual leaderboard and sits at T-12th. Sophomore Joelle Kim shot a 77, and freshman Renna Chang shot 80.
 
The Mammoths, #5 in the nation, will finish their fourth and final round of the NCAA DIII Women's Golf National Championship tomorrow. Once again the Mammoths will play at Desert Willow Golf Resort in the morning, and are looking to finish strong.
