AMHERST, MA. – Seniors
Sophie Diop (Boston, Mass.) and
Karolina Dobiecka (Ashland, Ore.) and sophomores
Tina She (Stouffville, Ontario) and
Cody Huang (Plano, Texas) of the Amherst women's tennis team were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections, the organization announced today.
Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Amherst being located in District 1. To earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be of sophomore academic standing with 3.50 cumulative GPA and be in the lineup for at least 75 percent of an institutions' days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count).
Diop, a mathematics and psychology double major, is selected Academic All-District after another All-NESCAC season, earning a Second Team Singles nod. The 2023 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Diop went 14-12 on the year and was a steady performer in the second spot of Amherst's singles ladder.
Dobiecka, a chemistry major and doubles specialist for the Mammoths, combined with She to form a formidable duo that racked up a 21-8 (72 percent) record on the season. The senior also earned an All-NESCAC Second Team doubles selection as a vital piece of the team's most consistent doubles pair: they went 6-3 in NESCAC matches and won all three of their NCAA Tournament matches to close the season.
She, an economics and mathematics double major, was named Academic All-District after a breakout season. The recognition is the latest in a long list that also includes NESCAC Player of the Year, All-NESCAC First Team Singles, and All-NESCAC Second Team Doubles nods. As of today, She is the No. 5 ranked singles player nationally, with a record of 24-4 (86 percent) during the 2025-26 season while consistently playing at the top spot. Her play also earned her a spot in the 2026 NCAA Singles Tournament, which will start on Friday, May 22.
Huang, an economics major, gets her first Academic All-District selection after receiving her first All-NESCAC recognition earlier this season. She played her way to a 18-9 singles record (67 percent) and 16-9 doubles record this season. Currently ranked in the top 40 singles players in the country by the ITA, Huang did her best work down the stretch, going 7-3 in singles matches in April and May.
The Mammoths finished the season 13-8, with a 7-3 record in NESCAC matches, and a NESCAC Semifinal appearance. They earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament, advancing to the Third Round with wins over Manhattanville and Swarthmore before falling to Wesleyan 4-2.
