AMHERST, MA. — The #4 Wesleyan University women's tennis team defeated Amherst 4–2 in the NCAA Round of 16 on Sunday morning at the Amherst Tennis Courts, ending the Mammoths' season at 13–8. HIGHLIGHTS
- The doubles point gave Amherst exactly the start it wanted against the fourth-ranked team in the country. Wesleyan took No. 3 doubles first, but Tina She and Karolina Dobiecka responded with a 6–3 win at No. 2, and Cody Huang and Lily Dounchis closed the point with a 9–7 tiebreak win at No. 1. That late No. 1 finish was a big moment, because it put Amherst ahead 1–0 before singles began.
- Amherst's lone singles win came from Tina She, who beat Leila Epstein 6–1, 6–2 at No. 1. The rest of the lineup went Wesleyan's way, including a close battle at No. 2 and a few competitive matches on the lower courts before the Cardinals pulled away.

UP NEXT
The loss ends Amherst's season in the NCAA Round of 16, matching the program's 2024–25 finish and closing the year at 13–8 overall. Amherst graduates three seniors, but the Mammoths should still be strong next year with a promising recruiting class and will look to make another postseason jump in 2027.
