Box Score AMHERST, Mass. -- Memorial Field has seen its share of better days.
The Brandeis University baseball team rolled into Amherst and had a good day, defeating hometown Mammoths by an 11-1 score on Memorial Field Wednesday afternoon.
Amherst falls to 15-6 overall, while the Judges sit at 11-11. Amherst is back in action Friday when it hosts Tufts University in the first game of a three-game weekend set beginning at 4 p.m.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
* Brandeis scored one in the 1st, three in the second and five in the fourth to build a 9-0 lead. A tree-run double by Brandeis' Henry Aronwald in the 4th turned a 4-0 hole into a 7-0 disadvantage for the Mammoths.
* Amherst scratched out a run in its half of the fourth.
Charlie LaFreniere walked to lead off and
Jackson Boyer lined a double. LaFreniere scored on
Jack Darcy's groundout to third.
Brandeis scored single runs in the fifth and seventhh to take an 11-1 lead and the game was halted after seven due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Liam Lennon made his long-anticipated debut, allowing an unearned run in the first and taking the loss.
