AMHERST, Mass. - Four members of the Amherst College Baseball team were announced to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Honors, it was announced today. Senior captain Tyler McCord (Langhorne, Pa.), senior Naaveen Narayanan (Malvern, Pa.), and sophomores Aiden Dubetsky (Frederick, Md.)  and Justin Orridge (Toronto, Ontario) earned the recognition this season.

Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Amherst being located in District One. In order to earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games – or started in 66.7 percent of them - during the recently completed season and have maintained at least a 3.5 undergraduate cumulative GPA.

McCord, a computer science and statistics double major, earned his third straight All-District recognition. He earned his first All-NESCAC selection as a senior, closing his career with his best collegiate season. The Pennsylvania native finished second on the team, and 11th in the NESCAC in batting average with a .360 mark, in addition to a .898 OPS. Where McCord really shined was as a contact hitter, recording 58 hits (fourth in the NESCAC), including 12 doubles (eighth in the NESCAC), and scoring 39 runs (ninth in the NESCAC). He was a vital piece of the Mammoth defense as well, with a top-30 fielding percentage in the conference this season.

Narayanan, an economics and statistics double major, earned his first All-District recognition. He received his first All-NESCAC honor on the Second Team after finishing second on the team and seventh in the conference in ERA (3.07) in 44.0 innings pitched. He gave up only 15 earned runs and allowed opponents to hit at just .236 clip (fifth in the NESCAC). He also finished ninth in the league in strikeouts with 42 on the year, averaging about one per inning pitched.

Dubetsky, an undeclared major, earned his first All-District recognition. He garnered his first All-NESCAC selection with his Second Team nod. The sophomore infielder, who played most of the season at shortstop for the Mammoths, was a consistent presence at the plate, putting up a .325 batting average on 51 hits (hits tied for seventh in the NESCAC), including eight doubles, with 27 RBIs.

Orridge, a psychology major, earned his first All-District recognition. He picked up where he left his first season off with a .337 batting average, which was third on the team and .905 OPS. In his 98 at bats this season, Orridge scored 27 runs for the Mammoths with 33 hits, 24 RBIs, and two home runs. He finished at the top of the NESCAC in fielding percentage at 1.000 and finished in the top-15 in putouts with 149.

The Mammoths finished the season 26-14 with a 7-5 record in NESCAC West games, a mark that saw them crowned division champions in the regular season. That gave them a top seed in the NESCAC tournament, where they advanced to NESCAC Championship Weekend. After a loss in their first game, Amherst fought their way to the final game via the Consolation bracket, where they fell 16-8 to Tufts.
