HADLEY, MA – Sophomore pitcher Nick Fassert (Katonah, N.Y.) was named this week's NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.

Fassert threw 6.1 no-hit innings versus Middlebury on Friday and went 1.2 more before leaving the game with Amherst up 3-1. The sophomore went eight innings total against the Panthers, allowing only two hits and striking out 11 batters while walking only one in a no-decision.

Amherst will return to action tomorrow, Tuesday April 7, facing Lasell University at home on Memorial Field. First pitch against the Lasers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
