EAST HADDAM, CT. -- The Amherst College Men's Golf Team competed in Day 2 of the 2026 NESCAC Championship tournament at Fox Hopyard Golf Course.
The Mammoths began play in the afternoon again, and fell one spot to 6th place out of 10 teams. The Mammoths fired a +19 over par today, adding up to a two day total of +46 over par. Continuing to lead the tournament is Tufts College who shot +4 over par today, adding up to a total of +18 over par. Williams College remains in 2nd place behind Tufts College, also shooting +4 over par today and now totaling +20 over par.Â
On the individual leaderboard, freshman
Thomas Zhang leads the team with a +3 for 74 (the course is a par 71). T. Zhang sits at 21st place out of 50 players.
Following T. Zhang, sophomore
Jan Ebbinge shot 75. Sophomore
Andre Zhang follows with a 77, and is now at 8th place on the individual leaderboard. Senior
Mark Vitels and senior
John Beskid also both shot 77.Â
The Mammoths, #46 in the nation, are back in action tomorrow with another afternoon start at the Fox Hopyard Golf Course. The team is hoping to finish strong for their final round of the NESCAC Championship.
