SOUTHWICK, Mass. -- The Amherst College Women's Golf Team, #5 in the nation, competed in the Northeast Invitational at the The Ranch Golf Club. The Mammoths competed in the two-day tournament, starting on Saturday April 18th, and completed on Sunday April 19th. After both days the Mammoths finished in third place, totaling +35 as a team. In first place, Middlebury College fired at +22 over par. Following in second place, Bowdoin College fired a +34 over par, beating the Mammoths by one stroke.
On day one, the Mammoths began play in the afternoon at 1:00 PM. The Mammoths finished the first day tied for 1st place with Middlebury College. Both teams finished the first day at +6 over par.Â
On the individual leaderboard for the first day, sophomore
Joelle Kim led the Mammoths firing at -2 under par round, and was tied for first on the individual leaderboard. Kim had an impressive, stable round with three birdies and one bogey, and was T-1 after the first round.
Following Kim, freshman
Renna Chang fired a +1 over par for 73 with three birdies. Freshman
Grace Zhan followed Chang, firing a 75. Sophomore
Mekhala Costello shot 76, and Freshman
Emma Lindemoen shot 80. Playing as an individual in the field, sophomore
Jia An fired a 75
On the second day of the Northeast Invitational, the Mammoths teed off in the morning. The Mammoths played in tough weather conditions, battling heavy rain and wind. The Mammoths finished Round 2 +29 over par as a team. Leading the team, sophomore
Joelle Kim fired a 77. On the individual leaderboard Kim finished T-2 with a William's player.Â

Grace Zhan did not participate on day two due to an illness. Playing as an individual, sophomore
Jia An finished round two with an 82 and finished the tournament in 23rd place out of 44.
The Mammoths are back in action in two weekends (May 1-3) for the 2026 NESCAC Championship tournament. The Mammoths will compete in a three day tournament at Taconic Golf Club hosted by Williams College.Â
