Rubin, Chappell-Dick Honored by USTFCCCA With Coach of the Year Accolades

AMHERST, MA – Amherst Track and Field Head Coach Steve Rubin and Assistant Coach Hannah Chappell-Dick were named the USTFCCCA Mideast Region Men's Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year, it was announced by the organization earlier this week.

Rubin led the Mammoths to the team title at the New England DIII Indoor Championships, with athletes winning four individual events. The distance medley relay team earned runner-up honors at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships, setting a school record in the process. The program finished 20th overall at the national meet.

Chappell-Dick coached Amherst distance runners to account for 43 of the team's title-winning 103 points at the New England DIII Indoor Championships. She also coached the DMR team to a national runner-up finish and helped athletes earn individual qualification in the 3000 and 5000 meters at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships.

The team will return to action for their annual home meet this weekend, with Spring Fling taking over Amherst's campus on Saturday, April 4. Events will begin mid-morning and continue throughout the day.
