Natalie Stott Named Finalist for Laura Hurd Award

GLOUCESTER, Mass. - Amherst College senior Natalie Stott, a three-time Div. III All-American, has been named one of seven finalists for the 2025-26 Laura Hurd Award, it was announced on Friday afternoon.

The Hurd Award is given annually to the best NCAA Division III women's ice hockey student-athlete in the country. There are seven finalists for this year's honor, including Pye, Haylee Bouchard (Wilkes), Megan Goodreau (Wisconsin-River Falls), Sophia Hess (Wisconsin-River Falls), Erin Pye (Williams), Riley Johnson (Adrian), Amy Laskowski (Nazareth) and Stott.

The finalists were selected by the nation's Division III head coaches in a preliminary vote earlier this week. Sponsored by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA), the Hurd Award honors the memory of former Elmira College standout Laura Hurd. A 2005 graduate of Elmira and four-time All-American, Hurd died in an automobile accident shortly after graduation. She was the recipient of the AHCA Player of the Year Award in 2005. The recipient of this year's Hurd Award will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four next week.

Stott has been named the AHCA's First Team All-East All-American goaltender for all three years se has been at Amherst. She was a four-time all-conference selection, and a First Team All-NESCAC in 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25. She currently leads the nation at D3 in goals against average (0.65), save percentage (.971) and shutouts (11) for the 2025-26 season. 

In addition Stott has set two all-time NCAA D3 records for this season. With 11 shutouts this season, she now has 44 for her career, breaking the old record of 35. With 20 wins this season, se now has 85, breaking the old record of 82. 

Amherst will host Elmira in an NCAA Div. III quarterfinal Saturday at 3 p.m.
