AUSTIN, Texas - Amherst College recent graduate
Natalie Stott (Franklin, Mass) was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America At-Large Second Team, it was announced recently.
Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Amherst being located in District 1. The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Stott, an economics and psychology double major, earned her third straight At-Large All-District nod in her final year with the Mammoths. boasting a 3.83 GPA.
Stott gets her nod to the CSC Academic All America Second Team after performing at arguably the highest level of her career. The senior finished the year with a .970 save percentage, .71 goals against average, and 12 shutouts, all of which led the nation. Stott also set two all-time NCAA DIII records this season: she finished her time in Amherst with 45 career shutouts, shattering the old NCAA record of 35, and compiled 86 career wins, surpassing the previous mark of 82. Throughout her career, Stott stopped 2380 shots and accumulated a career save percentage of .960. and an amazing 0.88 goals against average.
Stott was only the third player in NCAA Div. III history to be selected an AHCA/CCM First Team All-American all four years of her collegiate career.
