Andre Zhang of the NESCAC champion Amherst College men's golf team has been named Honorable Mention All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Zhang burst onto the collegiate golf scene this spring, notching top-10 finishes in all four stroke-play tournaments he competed in, including a 10th-place tie at the NCAA Division III Championships, as the Mammoths won four straight tournaments this spring. The Davis, California, native finished tied for second at the NESCAC Championships, helping the Mammoths win their first conference title since 1997.
Zhang finished the season as the top-ranked golfer in the Clippd rankings in Region I, one of seven regions across the nation, and ranked 38th in all of Division III with an adjusted scoring average of 72.3 in his rookie campaign.
