#12 Amherst Blanks #38 Bates in Dominant NESCAC Home Win, 7–0

LUDLOW, MA – The #12 Amherst College women's tennis team bounced back in a big way on Sunday afternoon, sweeping the #38 Bates College Bobcats with a score of 7–0 at the Ludlow Tennis Center. The Mammoths were sharp from start to finish, winning all three doubles matches and all six singles courts without dropping a set.

Up Next: With the win, Amherst improves to 7–4 overall and 3–2 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths continue their conference slate tomorrow with another home match at 2 PM. It will be played on Amherst's outdoor courts or indoors at the Ludlow Tennis Center, depending on weather.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst swept all three doubles courts for the second time this weekend, including 6–1 wins at the #1 and #3 spots.
  • Senior Amy Cui and first-year Tina She did not drop a single game en route to flawless 6–0, 6–0 singles wins at #2 and #5, respectively.
  • First-year Sophie Diop dominated at #4, winning 6–1, 6–0 to continue her strong spring.
  • Amherst won all six singles matches in straight sets, conceding just 10 games total across the board.
