JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Amherst College men's golf team accumulated a total of 593 at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational after day two, sitting in 16th overall. The Jekyll Island Golf Club hosted 30 teams.
First-year Jan Ebbinge (Queenstown, New Zealand) earned 75, shooting 37 on Friday and 38 today, tying him for 32nd place. Senior Teddy Freking shot 39 in the first round and 38 in the second, tallying a total of 77.
Steven Chen (San Jose, Calif.) scored 77, shooting 39 on Friday and 38 today. Also earning a score of 75, Paari Kaviyarasu shot 40 and 35 on the first and second days of the tournament, respectively.
Anthony Zhang, shooting 11 over par, shot 44 yesterday and 42 today, scoring 86 overall.
The Mammoths will be back in action tomorrow (Mar. 23) for the third day of the Jekyll Island Invitational.
