MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Junior
Eliza Cardwell of the Amherst College women's track and field team advanced to the finals of the 100m hurdles with a run that broke her own school record on Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Cardwell ran a time of 14.07 seconds to place seventh in the preliminary heats and advance to Saturday's final to compete for the national championship. Her time broke the previous school record of 14.13 seconds that Cardwell set last year at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championships.
Cardwell will compete in the final of the 100m hurdles at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday (May 25).
First-year
Zoë Marcus was also in action for the Mammoths, finishing 17th in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.40. Marcus was the only first-year in the field of 22 runners who qualified for the national championship meet.
