Mammoth Women Shine at Spring Fling with Record Performances and National Marks

AMHERST, Mass. -- The Amherst College women's track and field team delivered a strong performance at the Amherst Spring Fling Saturday, combining record-breaking throws, nationally ranked performances, and an impressive slate of personal bests across the board at its only home meet of the year.
 
Event Winners
The Mammoths captured three event victories on the day, showcasing both depth and dominance. Piper Lentz led the way on the track, winning the 800m in a strong 2:11.64. In the field, Madison Vant secured first place in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 40.08 meters. Amherst also triumphed in the 4x400m relay, where Halle Hanna, Camilla Lash, Mads Rabb, and Myeh Medina combined for a winning time of 4:00.72.
 
Sprint & Hurdle Highlights
Several Mammoths delivered standout performances on the track. Myeh Medina continued her exceptional season in the 100m hurdles, clocking a personal record of 14.63—good for #12 nationally. Medina followed up that race with a run that put her at #5 in the Division III rankings in the 400m hurdles of 1:02.04.  Ellie Jolly also impressed in the 100m dash, posting a personal best of 12.39. Heloise Hughes posted an incredible time of 12.00 in the 100m putting her at #8 in Division III. Amherst's 4x100m relay squad made a major statement. Rachel Hubley, Ellie Jolly, Camilla Lash, and Heloise Hughes placed second with a time of 47.17, moving them to #7 in Division III and positioning them as strong contenders heading into the championship season.
 
Middle Distance Performances
In the middle-distance events, Piper Lentz's victory in the 800m stood out as one of the top performances of the meet, running a time of 2:11.64 that puts her #7 in Division III. Following her victory was Zoe Marcus who also ran a blistering time of 2:12.17 in the 800m, putting her at #12 nationally. Camilla Lash added to the team's success with a second-place finish in the 400m, crossing the line in a personal-best 58.13.
 
Distance Events
The Mammoths showed depth in the distance events as well. Flora Biro ran a strong race and recorded a time of 4:41.05 in the 1500m. Maya Levine recorded a personal best of 4:42.33 in the 1500m to place sixth, while Hannah Adhikari followed with a strong PR of 4:44.18.
 
Throws Dominate the Field
 Amherst's throwers delivered one of the most impressive collective performances of the meet. Madison Vant not only won the javelin with a personal-best throw of 40.08 meters, but also achieved a mark that ranks #15 nationally.

Lilly Meadows had a historic day, breaking her own school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.97 meters. She also added personal best in the discus of 34.58m as well. Emma Ramsingh contributed to the dominant showing in the throws with a significant personal best in the hammer throw, recording a mark of 43.53 meters. While also giving the disc a 43.28 meter toss to put her at #15 in the Division III rankings.

Tess Adams also had a great hammer day posting a new personal best of 32.66m.
 
Looking Ahead
 With multiple nationally ranked performances, record-setting marks, and continued progression across the roster, Amherst will be competing at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational (April 11) and the Smith Invite & Multi (April 10-11).
