CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore
Aidan Gemme won the 1500m to highlight action for the Amherst College men's track and field team at the Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The meet, which featured athletes from all three NCAA divisions, served as the final tune-up before the NESCAC Championships next Saturday (April 27), beginning at 9 a.m. at Tufts University.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Gemme won the 1500m run with a personal-best time of 4:01.91 to finish atop a field of 41 that included athletes from all three NCAA divisions for the first win of his collegiate career.
* Sophomore
Noah Kanahele Harris finished second in both hurdles events, running the 110m hurdles in 15.72 seconds and posting a personal-best time of 57.07 seconds in the 400m hurdles.
* Sophomore
Alexander Nichols was the runner-up in the 100m dash, clocking in with a personal-best 10.76 seconds. Classmate
Jordan Harrison was just behind, crossing in 10.77 seconds to place third.
* Nichols also set a personal best in the 200m with a time of 21.86 seconds to finish fourth.
* First-year
Jacob Shine finished fourth in the discus with a season-best throw of 42.43m.
* Senior
Hugh Lemmon-Kishi notched a personal-best mark of 45.65m in the hammer to place 11th.
