LEWISBURG, Pa. – First-year
Zoë Marcus ran a personal-best time in the 800m as a small contingent of distance runners from the Amherst College women's track and field team wrapped up the weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday at Bucknell University.
In a meet featuring athletes from all three NCAA divisions, Marcus ran a time of 2:12.30 in the invitational 800m to finish 21st overall in a field of 137 runners. Marcus was the top first-year in the field. Her time ranks among the top 20 in Division III this season and is the top time in the nation from a Division III first-year this season.
Sophomore
Piper Lentz won her heat with a personal-best time of 2:14.69 in the event to finish 35th overall. Classmate
Bella Lozier clocked a personal-best time of 2:16.23 to place 54th in her first 800m of this outdoor season.
First-year
Emma Vatnsdal ran the mile and posted a time of 5:36.66 to place 24th in the only other event the Mammoths competed in on Sunday.
The Mammoths will be back in action next weekend, traveling to MIT for the Collier Invitational on Saturday (April 20) at 11 a.m.
