#13 Amherst earn third NESCAC win over Conn, 8-1

AMHERST, MA – On Sunday afternoon, the #19 Amherst College women's tennis team eased past the Connecticut College Camels on the Mammoths' outdoor courts. With a score of 8-1, Amherst were dominant from start to finish.

Beating Conn today improved Amherst's record to 8-4 (3-2 in NESCAC). Up next: the Mammoths have one more match of this extended weekend on Tuesday. Amherst will host the Trinity College Bantams at 4pm on the outdoor tennis courts on campus. This match will honor Amherst's three captains, Kaya Amin, Julia Lendel, and Emily Sivarak on Senior Day.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst swept doubles with comfortable wins at all spots to head into the singles matches with a substantial 3-0 lead.
  • The Mammoths then continued their momentum by winning five of the six singles matches versus the Camels. 
  • First-years Karolina Dobiecja and Maddie Swire enjoyed particularly fast singles wins; they each dropped just two games at the #5 and #6 spots respectively.
