The Amherst College women's track and field team was in action at two meets on Saturday, taking on local rivals in the Carla Coffey Invitational at Smith College and competing against some of the nation's best in the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University.
Sophomore
Arissa Grace McGowan won the 100m hurdles at Smith while junior
Julia Schor ran the 1500m in a time that ranks among the top 20 in Division III this season in a meet at Bucknell that featured athletes from all three NCAA divisions.
The Mammoths will be back in action next weekend, traveling to MIT for the Collier Invitational on Saturday (April 20) at 11 a.m.
COFFEY INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
* McGowan won the 100m hurdles in 15.05 seconds, matching her season-best time in the first win of the season for the reigning NESCAC champion in the event. Sophomore
Myeh Medina placed sixth in 15.61 seconds.

Emma Ramsingh was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 40.78m and classmate
Isabella Niemi finished fifth with a mark of 32.94m.
* Taking on the long jump for the first time as a collegian, first-year
Héloïse Hughes finished second with a mark of 5.23m. Hughes also placed sixth in the 200m dash with a time of 26.15 seconds in her outdoor debut in the event.

Leah Smith tied for third in the high jump. The reigning Little Three champion in the event cleared 1.52m on her final attempt.

Madison Rabb clocked in at 4:08.84.
* Medina finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.50. Rabb won her heat and placed eighth overall in 1:09.14.

Anaya Thomas finished fourth in the heptathlon with a personal-best score of 3745 points. First-year
Morgan Rome placed sixth with 3486 points in her first collegiate heptathlon, posting the best mark in the field in the javelin with a throw of 36.55m.

Mia Bawendi won her heat and finished sixth overall in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 12.89 seconds.

Christa Prasertsintanah ran the 400m in 1:00.69 to finish sixth in her outdoor collegiate debut.
* The Mammoths tallied 85.5 points to place fifth out of 13 schools in the team standings. Middlebury won the meet with 175 points.
BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC HIGHLIGHTS:
* Schor ran a personal-best time of 4:34.68 in the 1500m to finish 29th in the invitational event in a field comprised of mostly Division I athletes. Schor's time ranks among the top 20 in Division III this season. First-year
Zoë Marcus won her heat, clocking in with a personal-best time of 4:36.43 to place 34th overall.
* Junior
Claire Callon was the top Division III finisher in the unseeded 10,000m, running a personal-best time of 37:53.31 to place third overall.
* Sophomore
Allison Lounsbury ran a time of 18:10.62 to finish 15th in the unseeded 5000m and first-year
Daphne Witherell clocked in at 18:18.80 to place 25th in the field of 68. Both Mammoths were making their first start of the outdoor season at that distance.
