MEDFORD, Mass. – A top time in the distance medley relay highlighted action for the Amherst College women's track and field team in the final indoor meet before the national championships with a handful of Mammoths taking part in the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday.

Julia Schor posted a time of 11:48.59 on the flat track at Tufts to finish third. Flat-track times are converted to banked-track equivalents for national championship qualification purposes, converting the Mammoths' mark to 11:41.08, which is a season best that currently ranks ninth nationally in Division III as results come in from the final day of competition. The top 12 times in the nation are invited to the NCAA Championships with selections to be announced Sunday night (March 3).
In other action at Tufts, senior
Mia Bawendi cleared 3.53m in the pole vault to finish fifth.
The Mammoths will now turn their attention to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, coming up on March 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition to the distance medley relay team, junior
Eliza Cardwell is in strong position to be selected in both the 60m hurdles and the long jump when selections are announced on Sunday. Cardwell currently ranks in the top 12 nationally in both events with the top 20 athletes selected in individual events.
