BOSTON – Junior
Casie Eifrig broke her own school record in the 400m to highlight action for the Amherst College women's track and field team on Friday at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, a massive meet featuring athletes from all three NCAA divisions as well as world-class professionals at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Most of the women's events were held today with the distance medley relay the only remaining event on the program at BU coming up on Saturday (Feb. 10) at 1:55 p.m. The rest of the Mammoths will be in action on Saturday at the Middlebury Field and Track Meet beginning at 11:30 a.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Eifrig broke the Amherst school record in the 400m for the second time this season, clocking a time of 57.40 seconds to finish 60th in a field of 215 runners.
* Junior
Julia Schor set a new personal best in the mile with a time of 4:57.83, a time that ranks in the top 20 nationally in Division III so far this season, finishing 144th in a field of 330 runners.
* Junior
Eliza Cardwell was the top Division III finisher in the 60m hurdles, placing fifth with a time of 8.78 seconds.
* Sophomore
Anastasia Ioppolo was the top Division III finisher in the triple jump with a mark of 10.88m.
