BOSTON – The Amherst College men's track and field team kicked off action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday with a season-best mark in the distance medley relay on the banked track at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

Junior Tom Ye and first-years Parker Boyle, Josh Thomas and Stan Craig posted a time of 10:08.66 to finish 14th in a field that included teams from all three NCAA divisions. Amherst's time is among the top 10 in NCAA Division III so far this season.

A full complement of Mammoths will be in action on Saturday (Feb. 10) with some competing at Boston University's Hemery Valentine Invitational beginning at 9 a.m. and others at the Middlebury Field and Track Meet beginning at 11:30 a.m.
