MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior Anaya Thomas earned All-New England honors with a third-place finish in the pentathlon to open action for the Amherst College women's track and field team at the New England Division III Indoor Championships on Thursday at Tufts University.

Thomas scored a personal-best 3198 points in the pentathlon. She swept the jumping events, leading the field with a mark of 1.61m in the high jump and a personal best of 5.16m in the long jump. Thomas also set personal bests in the shot put at 8.95m and the 800m in 2:42.06. Senior Trintje Nydam also qualified for the championship field and tallied 2555 points to finish 11th.

The pentathlon was Thursday's only event with the remainder of the New England Division III Championships taking place on Sunday (Feb. 25) at the Track at New Balance in Boston with a full day of action getting underway at 9 a.m.
